Are there any age restrictions?
Well, some yachts prefer younger people, others more mature and it often depends a lot on your personality and attitude, and the preferences on the yacht owners or captains. We have trained students from 22-45 years over the years and most students find work reasonably easily, however, other skills, both professional and life, assist in gaining these jobs, which really applies to most jobs, doesn't it?
I've heard I need an 'ENG1 MCA Medical Cetificate', how do I get one?
The ENG1 MCA Medical Certificate is a Seafarers medical exam and you can get it at medical centres around the world. For better employment opportunities, particularly with crew agencies, it isvery wise to obtain one as it is becoming mandatory for yacht, in particular charter situations. However, athough there is a cost, according to where you get it, it is valid for 2 years.
